Perth Radiological Clinic wishes to thank all of its patients and referring doctors for their support during the recent closure of its branch located within the South Perth Community Hospital, Burch Street in South Perth. The site suffered considerable damage from a fire that started in the branch on the evening of Wednesday June 15, 2011.
An electrical fault has been blamed for starting the fire sometime after 10 pm on Wednesday night and although the clinic sustained considerable damage, we are just grateful that no one was hurt, said PRC’s Operations Manager, Mr Steve Morris, who was on the scene soon after the alert was raised.
The fire caused extensive damage to the patient reception and front office areas as well as destroying the CT room and CT scanner and x-ray room and equipment, he said. Unfortunately the clinic’s new mammography unit was also destroyed, but on the bright side our new ultrasound unit and recently completed extra ultrasound room was not damaged at all so that is something to be thankful for, he added.
The Practice has been working overtime to get the clinic refurbished and has purchased a new multi-slice CT scanner as well as new mammography and x-ray units for the site. The clinic also has a brand new reception area and front office and is now taking bookings.
To make an appointment please contact the clinic on 9474 7600.
