May graduated with Honours from the University of Dublin’s Medical School, Ireland, in 2001. She commenced her radiology training in Newcastle upon Tyne (UK) in 2004. In 2009, she completed her radiology training which included subspecialty training in Breast Imaging. From October 2009 until August 2015 May undertook Consultant Radiologist positions at University Hospital of North Durham, Durham (UK) and the Breast Screening Unit, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead (UK). In October 2015 she immigrated to Australia and joined Perth Radiological Clinic.
