Below is a list of requirements for you to follow prior to your procedure.
![]() | Nil by mouth from MIDNIGHT. No food or drink – Including Water |
![]() | No Nail Polish or Fake Nails. |
![]() | You will need a Family Member or Friend to take you home after your procedure. |
![]() | Do continue to take your regular medication as normal with a small sip of water. |
![]() | Do bring your reading glasses with you. You will be required to complete some paperwork on arrival, if you require reading glasses please bring them with you |
![]() | Do bring your Referral, Medicare, Concession and DVA Card and any previous related scans to your appointment. |
![]() | After your Procedure you will be required to remain in the department for observation. This may be for 1 to 2 hours. As Sedation impairs your judgement you should not drive for at least 12 hours and should avoid using machinery or doing activities where impaired judgment may place you or others in danger. You should also avoid making important decisions until the effects of the sedation have completely worn off. |
Does any of the following apply to you? If so please contact us as soon as possible.
- You have a pacemaker.
- You have a history of Sleep Apnoea.
- You have had surgery to your heart, head or ear.
- You have ever had an eye injury caused by a metal object.
- You weigh 130kg or more.
- The patient is under the age of 16 or over 70 years of age.
- The patient is non-English speaking and requires us to arrange an interpreter to be present at the appointment.
