Dr Wasana Thambavitage

Dr Thambavitage has been part of PRC’s team of expert radiologists since 2022
Wasana graduated from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2009. She worked in a variety of general medical and emergency treatment roles until 2013, when she commenced her radiology training. She was offered Doctor of Medicine in Radiology by the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka in 2017.
Wasana got the opportunity to move to Brisbane in 2019, accepting a position as an honorary registrar in radiology at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Herston.
In 2020, Wasana relocated to Perth, undertaking a thoracic radiology fellowship at Royal Perth Hospital, which she followed up with a fellowship in breast radiology in 2021. She also worked at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Fiona Stanley Hospital as a fellow in Radiology.
Wasana was admitted to Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in 2022, following which she joined Perth Radiological Clinic in 2022. She has also been working as a radiologist with special interest in breast imaging at Royal Perth Hospital since 2023.
