Below is a list of DO’s and DONT’s we require you to follow in the lead up to your procedure. Please read through them carefully.

![]() | Day of examination Patients aged 9 or under: No food 4 hours before examination. Patients aged 9 to 15: No food 6 hours before examination.. |
![]() | Patients can drink clear fluids up to 2 hours before examination Clear fluids include water or cordial. |
![]() | No Iron tablets to be taken the morning of examination. Please continue to take all other regular medication as normal. |
![]() | OPTIONAL: You can bring Emla cream to your appointment. Emla cream is a topical anaesthetic cream which can be applied to the skin prior to administration of contrast to numb the area of the injection site. You should be able to purchase Emla cream from most pharmacies. |
![]() | Do bring your reading glasses with you. You will be required to complete some paperwork on arrival, if you require reading glasses please bring them with you |
![]() | Do bring your Referral, Medicare, Concession and DVA Card and any previous related scans to your appointment. |
Does any of the following apply to you? If so, please contact us as soon as possible.
- You have a pacemaker.
- You had surgery to your heart, head or ear.
- You have ever had an eye injury caused by a metal object.
- You weigh 200kgs or more.
- The patient is non-english speaking and requires us to arrange an interpreter to be present at the appointment.
