What to expect at your appointment.

This procedure is done in two parts.

Part 1 involves an injection of the radiotracer. Which will usually be followed by your first scan. This first part of the procedure will take between 10 and 30 minutes.

The Nuclear Technologist will then give you a return time for the second part of your procedure.
Please note the return time could be anywhere from 2 to 6 hours after part one is complete. The wait time will depend on the area of the body being imaged.

You are welcome to leave the clinic and return at your scheduled return time or wait in the clinic waiting room.

Part 2 of the procedure will involve a second lot of imaging after the required wait time. This part of the procedure will take between 30 and 60 minutes to complete.

This Procedure takes time.
This procedure is done in two parts. You will be required to return to the clinic at a scheduled return time 2 to 6 hours after your initial appt time.
Please ensure you allow adequate time in your day to complete both parts of the procedure.
Do continue to eat and drink as normal.
Do continue to take all your regular medication as normal.
Do bring your reading glasses with you.
You will be required to complete some paperwork on arrival, if you require reading glasses please bring them with you
Do bring your Referral, Medicare, Concession and DVA Card and any previous related scans to your appointment.
