This procedure is performed over multiple visits. On the first day you will need to return to our clinic each hour for 5 hours after the first part of your appointment. You will then be required to return for another 1-hour appointment (liquid phase) on a separate day.

Below is a list of requirements for you to follow prior to your procedure.

Do send us a copy of your referral if you have not yet done so.
We require this prior to your appointment.
Don’t eat from midnight the night before appointment.
No food, smoking, chewing, gum, lollies, breath mints, cough lollies etc.
Do continue to take sips of water prior to your appointment.
Don’t take any Opiates or Prokinetic medication that might affect gastric emptying for 2 days prior to your appointment.
If you are not sure check with our staff. Examples include:  Metoclopramide, domperidone, opiates, anticholinergics, nifedipine, benzodiazepine etc.
Do continue to take all your other regular medication as normal.
Do send us a list of all your regular medications at least 2 days before your appointment
Do let us know if you have an egg or gluten allergy.
We need this information at least 24 hours prior to your appointment
Do bring your reading glasses with you.
You will be required to complete some paperwork on arrival, if you require reading glasses please bring them with you
Do wear loose, warm, comfortable clothing.
Avoid zippers, studs, watches, and jewellery.
Do let us know if you need to cancel your appointment.
Every patient has an individual isotope dose ordered for them. This is a high cost item. We need early advice (at least 48hrs) of cancellation to stop the preparation of this isotope, otherwise this cost may be passed onto you.
Do bring your Referral, Medicare, Concession and DVA Card and any previous related scans to your appointment.
Do expect to have this procedure performed over multiple visits.
