What to know

Cone beam computed tomography (CT) is a very low radiation dose, 3-dimensional scan using specialised equipment, which is mainly used to assess the jaw and teeth. It offers 3D evaluation of dental anatomy and pathology: for example, impacted teeth, pre-implant assessment, orthodontic assessment, and assessment for jaw and face surgery.

You suspect or know that you may be pregnant

Do you require an interpreter?
Is the patient non-english speaking? If so, we can arrange for an interpreter to be present during the appointment. Please let us know as soon as possible so we can make the relevant arrangements.

Please advise the staff if you are pregnant or suspect you may be pregnant.

The examination is pain free.
You will be asked to sit with your chin resting on a small support shelf to provide accurate positioning.
The scanner will move around your head. The images will be reviewed and reported by one of our specialist radiologists.
Please advise the reception team of your follow up appointment date with your referring doctor.
